Cŵlbox join us at Inn At The Sticks on May 10th, where they’ll be cooking an exciting Japanese influenced menu in the street food kitchen at Outdoor At The Sticks… we’re very excited!

Cŵlbox began in 2018 when husband and wife team, Jody and Rhiannon, swapped city life in Cardiff for the Pembrokeshire coast, selling their home to follow a long-held dream of running a food truck by the sea. They launched from a vintage horse box on Saundersfoot beach, serving up freshly cooked seafood to locals and tourists alike. Since then, Cŵlbox has become a much-loved name in Welsh street food, topping Tripadvisor as the #1 restaurant in Saundersfoot.

After several years on the beach, Cŵlbox moved on due to sustainability concerns around power use, and later, faced planning issues at a new coastal site. Undeterred, they kept their passion for food alive through a variety of exciting ventures.

They completed a popular residency at The Dennis Café in Tenby, where they were ranked #2 restaurant in Tenby on Tripadvisor, and have since enjoyed a series of pop-ups across Wales and beyond – including Tiger Yard in Cardiff, The Thirsty Elephant in Pontyclun, Inn at the Sticks in Llansteffan, and Cegin Diod in Llandeilo. Cŵlbox has also brought their signature style to festivals and weddings, always staying true to their ethos of fresh, local, and responsibly sourced ingredients.

In 2021, Jody and Rhiannon founded and ran Umi Tenby, the town’s first ever Japanese-influenced restaurant. Umi quickly gained a loyal following before being taken over in spring 2023 by award-winning local restaurant group Dragon Palace and Lokky’s.

Cŵlbox is currently looking for a new venue in Pembrokeshire and hopes to open later this year.

Find out more about Cŵlbox here & contact them if you’d like to PRE-ORDER sushi on Saturday 10 May.
